BJP’s Saffron falls to 35% from a High of 70% in Dec 2017 Amaresh Patel TOP STORIES Mon, Dec 23, 2019, at ,10:09 PM Once upon a time, as in the stories, BJP had covered almost all the part of India. It had it’s presence from Jammu to Andhra, from Gujarat to almost all the NE sister states which in total accounts for 70% in December 2017. With this huge majority, BJP had absolute power to do what they wish to do. In December 2019, apart from few states such as Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka and NE sister states, BJP has lost half the states its owns. With the huge loss in Jharkhand, it seems, days are numbered. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha working President Hemant Soren is set to return for a second time as Jharkhand Chief Minister. The BJP had initially campaigned on the issue such as Article 370, Ram Mandir, Triple Talaq, and the new focus was on Citizenship Amendment Act which had probably changed the later phase of the election. The exit polls have predicted that the JMM-Congress-RJD combine may win between 35 to 50 seats in the assembly while the BJP may have to compromise between 22 to 32 seats. For the BJP, a defeat in Jharkhand is expected to be a major setback after surprise electoral reversals that the party faced in the recent Maharashtra and Haryana assembly polls.
