Clash erupted in Karkardooma Court in Delhi two days after Tis Hazari Court Violence Admin LAW CRITIQUE Mon, Nov 04, 2019, at ,09:13 AM Two Days after the Tis Hazari Court Violence another clash between police and advocates was reported in Karkardooma Court in Anand Vihar Area in Delhi on Monday morning. As it is reported the tussle erupted as a bunch of lawyers thrashed some policemen who were on duty in the court premises. Advocates in the Delhi High Court and all district courts in the city have decided to abstain from work on Monday to protest against the Tis Hazari clash that took place on Saturday. The lawyers said they would not participate in any of the judicial work and only proxy counsel would appear in the courts to take dates in various matters. The incident comes on the day when Delhi High Court suspended two sub-inspectors for firing on a lawyer during the scuffle at Tis Hazari Court on Saturday. In the Saturday violence, at least 20 police officers were injured in the incident, several vehicles were torched and a lawyer was shot at and several other lawyers were injured. The Saturday incident erupted after a lawyers' car hit a police van following which an argument broke out between him and the police. Bar officials alleged the police opened fire at them without provocation and hit them with batons, a charge denied by officials of the force. Delhi High Court has taken Suo Motu cognizance and order a judicial inquiry into the matter. The Court appointed former Delhi HC judge Justice S.P. Garg to head the probe. The bench said Justice Garg will be assisted by directors of CBI, Vigilance and Intelligence Bureau or any other senior officers appointed by them and the inquiry shall be completed within six weeks and a report is submitted in the court.
