Farmer’s Protest LIVE UPDATE: Negotiations, Terms & Conditions has got a bit more tight Amaresh Patel TOP STORIES Thu, Jan 28, 2021, at ,12:39 PM Though it is yet to establish whether or not farmers were involved in unflagging national flag from Red Fort and incident followed therein, but it seems, and confirmed from government sources (According to Indian Express) that the government has got the upper hand in the negotiation table now. It seems the farmers leaders have lost “moral authority” in the wake of protests in the national capital on the Republic Day.On 20th January, 2021 govt. wanted to settle the matter by agreeing to suspend the three laws from 18 months and set up a join committee to discuss the law in detail. Fearing uncertainty in the matter, and possibilities to unearth unfortunate demands from the govt. and companies, farmers rejected the offer and decided to continue the protests. BJP claims, after the agitation from so-called farmers leader, that the so-called leaders do not have any control over them. They says, “It was like a closed fist; now it’s open and the farmer unions have got exposed. Even if the government held discussions, what assurance can they (farmer’s union) give in making everyone agree to it? So, the government will have discussions only if it is sure that the stand-off is over.” The case is still pending in Supreme Court whether or not such agitations were motivated and supported by farmer’s union.
