And, all of them is as inspiring as this one. That’s why he was designated as Mahatma. His popularity and Guinness in the humanity changed his name from Mohan Das Karam Chandra Gandhi to Mahatma Gandhi. Now, Mahatma Gandhi is not just a name but the brand of humanity, equality, and peaceful resistance against the powerful. The Salt March by Esther David Starting 1835, and a series of salt laws. The tax raised the prices of Indian salt and made it difficult for Indians, especially poor people, to buy the salt they needed. The Salt Laws made it illegal for Indians to collect, produce or sale the salt. Anyone who collect, produce or sale salt in India outside of British, could be imprisoned for 6 months. Gandhi and many others found the imposition of the Salt Tax and restriction on salt production unfair and decided to protest against them. He said, “Next to air and water, salt is perhaps is the greatest necesarity for life. It is important for heathy life. Gandhi organized the salt march from Gandhi Ashram in Ahmadabad to the seaside village of Dandi, in the south of Gujarat. It was started on the 12th March, 1930, with Gandhi and 78 people. Along with 240 miles from Ahmedabad to Dandi, thousands of people from all over India joined Gandhi against unfair law on tax and to produce and sale their own salt. Gandhi and his followers walked about 12 miles a day and reached Dandi in three weeks. He called is “a battle of right against might.” At the end of the March, Gandhi picked up some grains of salt from seashore and took a pledge, “with these crystals of salt I’m going to sake the foundation of British Empire.” Rest is history. You see, there are many who faces injustice but a law student sees it differently. He’ll walk against the unjust in his own style and find legal arguments to defend his point. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar What could inspire you more than the Father of Indian Constitution, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Most of us remember his as a man who fought against social discrimination towards untouchables, I want to glimpse on his career as a lawyer. It is said that once in a lifetime every lawyer has an opportunity to defend the case which could make him famous. It is on him whether or not he could take that particular case to its next height. The knowledge of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar charmed him in a case of sedition for Philip Spratt, a British Communist. He was his counsel and all the argument was against him. The evidences were clear and the witness to the case was clearly against him. But he has his draft. He was known for his drafting skills. And, he stood to that till the last. Where all the arguments were pointing against him, he simply stated flaw in the concept of what British understands about Government. His only argument was that no disaffection has been shown towards the Government of India and whatever had been said was referred either to British Imperialism or to the concept of imperialism in general. Thus, the same would not come within the purview of the Sedition. And, it became the first case where British agreed on the concept of government Dr. Ambedkar wanted to show. He won the case, with it, he won the official representation of India as Indian Government in British document. Getting inspired with importance of drafting, ILW Institute has launched Certification Course on Advance Legal Drafting for improving drafting skills of advocates, law students and professionals. As draft is the first and the only thing remains on the paper in the case, we teach you all and every kind of draft with providing you format of it. Jawaharlal Nehru Jawaharlal Nehru, who eventually became first Prime Minister of India, like many of us was persuaded, let me use the word forced, to become a lawyer. The one who hails from legal background can related to it. In order to equip him intellectually for the profession of law, Motilal Nehru sent him to English Public School at Harrow and then, to the Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He was inclined to practical learning and therefore he spent his time with advocates, and professionals of his time than learning in academic learning. Practical Learning has its own approach which is rarely seen in Universities or colleges. Pt. Nehru was more satisfied in walking around professionals than studying there. Inspired by the vision and ambition of Jawaharlal Nehru, Into Legal World Institute has drafted courses with professionals such as Certification Course on Competition Law.
