The worst affected reason in Bihar includes Patna, Vaishali, Khagaria and nearby regions of Gangeti plain. Till date, the State Disaster Relief Force has rescued over 10,000 people but yet to be sheltered. The relief operation is underway in several parts of the region. More than 494 panchayats are submerged in the flood affected region which has resulted in death of 74 citizens as published by Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Department. Karnataka faces another unpleasant situation where flood has developed heavily and affected 51 taluks (district). The State Govt has released Rs 126 Crore for Karnataka Flood Relief and sheltered 16,875 people. A report says that more than 15,000 people are yet to be sheltered. The rescue teams, including personnel from Fire and Emergency, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Army, have been moving people from flood-affected areas to safety.
