Bombay High court order For conduct Preliminary CBI Investigation in 15 days against Home Minister of Maharashtra Admin Mon, Apr 05, 2021, at ,01:18 PM The Bombay High Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to conduct a preliminary inquiry within 15 days into the corruption allegations against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh leveled by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh. While hearing of petitions seeking an independent probe into Param Bir Singh's allegations, a bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice GS Kulkarni said Anil Deshmukh was the home minister and no impartial probe could be done by the police. The plea also alleged corruption in police transfers and postings. Param Bir Singh had alleged that Anil Deshmukh had asked suspended police officer Sachin Vaze, who has been arrested by the NIA in the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case, to collect Rs 100 crore every month, including Rs 40-50 crore from bars and restaurants in Mumbai.
