About the Internship
As part of its advocacy mission, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) conducts various targeted outreach and training programs with a diverse range of stakeholders, where students of Economics, Law, Management, and Finance, among others, play a crucial role.
The CCI's internship program aims to provide students with practical insights into competition law. Given CCI's significant role as a market regulator, it is essential for students to grasp the intricacies of Competition Law for their future careers in various capacities.

Who can Apply?
Open to Indian Nationals only.
The internship is available to students from recognized Institutions and Universities with exposure to Competition Law. Educational qualifications include:
Second and third year of a Bachelor's degree in Law (3-year course after graduation); or
Fourth and final year of the five-year integrated course in Law, and students who have completed the 3rd year exam and are entering the 4th year;
LLM;
Students with a job placement are not eligible.
Internship Details
The internship typically lasts for one month, starting on the 1st working day of the month.
Applicants wishing to pursue an internship for 2-3 calendar months can also apply with appropriate recommendations from their University/College/Institution for the desired period.
There will be a brief induction program on the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002, on the first day of the internship.
The internship is a full-time program, and interns are required to adhere to the Commission's working hours. Any absence during working hours may lead to an extension of the internship period without any honorarium.
The internship may be terminated at any time without honorarium payment if the intern's performance is unsatisfactory or if the intern is absent without the guide's authorization.
Certificates will be awarded to interns upon successful completion of their internship.
Stipend
An honorarium of Rs.15,000/- per month will be provided during the internship.
Additional Details
Interns will receive basic logistical support, including office space with intercom and computer facilities.
Interns will work on the Commission's premises and may use its library.
The competent authority or the institution's nominee or referee recommending the internship candidate is expected to be available for interactions with the Commission if necessary.
The results of the study conducted during the internship will remain the intellectual property of the Commission, and interns cannot use it without the Commission's prior approval.
Interns must provide an undertaking before joining the internship program stating:
“She/He does not have a job placement” and
“She/He will strictly maintain full confidentiality and secrecy of any information/matter related to the Competition Commission of India.”
Application Procedure
Interested students should apply using the prescribed format given in the Annexure. Applications in any other format will not be accepted.
The application must include a recommendation from the competent authority of the academic institution where the candidate is studying. Applications without recommendations will not be considered.
Applicants must submit a ‘Statement of Purpose’ of about 200 words, briefly introducing the topic and objectives of the study.
Applications should be submitted by the 1st of the month preceding the intended internship month, e.g., for June 2026, applications should be submitted by 1st May 2026.
