About the Legal Internship Opportunity at the Competition Commission of India
In line with its advocacy responsibilities as outlined in Section 49 of the Competition Act-2002 (Act), the Competition Commission of India (CCI) conducts targeted outreach and training programs with a diverse range of stakeholders, where students from fields such as Economics, Law, Management, and Finance play a crucial role.
The CCI internship program seeks to provide students with hands-on experience in competition law. Given CCI's crucial role as a market regulator in the economy, it is essential for students to grasp the intricacies and details of Competition Law for their prospective careers in various fields. This internship program draws talented individuals from top educational institutions throughout India.
Eligibility
Only for Indian citizens.
The internship is available to students from accredited Institutions and Universities with knowledge of Competition Law.
Students who have secured a job offer are not eligible.
Eligible courses for application:
Economics and Management: MA / MSc. (Economics), students in the fourth and final year of a 5-year integrated degree program in Economics, and MBA students.
Law:
Second and third-year students of the Bachelor's degree in Law (3-year course after graduation), or fourth and final year students of the five-year integrated law program, as well as students who have completed their third-year exams and are entering the fourth year.
LLM students
Regulatory Governance: MA / MSc. (Regulatory Governance)
Professional Courses: Students in the final group of Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary.
Eligibility & Condition
Students interested in applying should use the format specified in the Annexure. Applications submitted in any other format will not be considered.
The application must include a recommendation from the competent authority at the academic institution where the applicant is currently studying. Applications lacking recommendations will not be considered.
Applicants must submit a ‘Statement of Purpose’ of approximately 200 words, which should broadly cover an introduction to the topic and the study's objectives.
Applications should be submitted by the 1st of the month preceding the intended application month, for example, for December 2016, applications should be submitted by November 1, 2016.

The envelope containing the application should be labeled “Application for Internship for Month/Year”.
Stipend
An amount of Rs.15,000/- per month will be given as honorarium during the internship.
Duration
An internship typically lasts for one month, starting on the first working day of the month. However, applicants wishing to undertake an internship for 2-3 calendar months may also apply, provided they have the appropriate recommendation from their respective University, College, or Institution for the duration requested.
