About the Internship

Women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from Non-Tier I cities and rural areas of India are encouraged to apply for a two-month Internship Programme. Candidates interested in the Internship Programme must be enrolled in or associated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution.

This program is designed to familiarize women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers (referred to as 'interns') with the Ministry's policies and programs through short-term involvement. Interns may be tasked with conducting pilot projects or micro-studies centered on the Ministry's current activities. Through this initiative, the Ministry aims to provide interns with valuable insights into its mandate, specific programs, and policy analysis, enabling them to actively address women's and children's issues on various platforms in the future.

Eligibility

The program is open to women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from non-tier-I cities and rural areas of India. These women, referred to as interns, must be enrolled in or associated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution.

Selection

Interns will be chosen based on the recommendations of the Selection Committee specifically formed for this purpose. The list of recommended candidates will be accessible on the Internship Portal under ‘Downloads’. Once a candidate is selected for the Internship Programme, they cannot apply again.

Stipend Amount

Chosen interns will receive a monthly lump sum stipend of Rs. 20,000/- and will be reimbursed for travel expenses (via deluxe/AC bus or 3 Tier AC train) for their journey to join the programme at the Ministry and for their return trip at the conclusion of the programme.

Interns who are willing will be offered hostel accommodations on a sharing basis for the length of their program in Delhi. The hostel will provide only basic amenities, including triple-sharing rooms with an attached bathroom (mattress not included), as well as a table, chair, and cupboard.
