NCST Internship 2026 by National Commission for Scheduled Tribes! Apply by 18th June 2026!

About the Opportunity

The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), a constitutional entity under Article 338A of the Indian Constitution, is inviting applications for its Internship Programme 2026. This programme provides students and research scholars with a chance to familiarize themselves with the Commission’s mandate, functions, and activities, while participating in research and policy analysis on issues concerning Scheduled Tribes.


Internship Details

  • Duration: 1 month (extension possible with approval)

  • Batch Size: Up to 10 interns per cycle

  • Location: NCST Headquarters, New Delhi, or Regional Offices

  • Stipend: ₹15,000 per month (additional TA/DA for approved fieldwork)

  • Start Date: Mid‑July 2026


Areas of Research

  • Policy evaluation of tribal welfare schemes

  • Legal and constitutional safeguards for Scheduled Tribes

  • Tribal land, forest rights, and displacement issues

  • Education, health, and livelihood sectors

  • Any additional area assigned by the Commission


Eligibility

  • Education: Students from 2nd year onwards or graduates in Science, Social Science, Commerce, Arts, Humanities, or equivalent disciplines. Postgraduates and research scholars are also eligible.

  • Marks: Minimum 60% in the last qualifying exam (relaxation possible).

  • Age: 18–30 years (relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per norms).

  • Preference: Candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be given preference.
