About the RBI Summer Internship

The RBI Summer Internship Program aims to offer insights into central banking, financial regulation, and policy research. Law students gain experience by engaging with topics related to banking law, financial regulation, and statutory compliance.

Each year, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) opens applications for its esteemed RBI Summer Internship Placement Program for 2025–2026.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Students enrolled in:

    • Postgraduate programs

    • Five-year integrated courses in Management, Statistics, Law, Commerce, Economics, Econometrics, Banking, or Finance

    • Three-year full-time professional bachelor's degree in Law from recognized institutions/colleges in India

  • Only students who are in the second-to-last year of their studies are eligible to apply

  • ₹20,000 monthly

  • Travel allowance available for candidates from outside the city


Application Process

Selections occur biannually, based on RBI's needs, with internships beginning on 1st January or 1st July.

  • For internships starting on 1st January:

    Applications are accepted from July to November of the previous year and reviewed in December

  • For internships starting on 1st July:

    Applications are accepted from January to May and reviewed in June

  • Applications are valid only for the specified batch (1st January / 1st July) and will not be carried forward to future batches. Candidates who are not selected must reapply for the next cycle.

  • Candidates are shortlisted based on their CV, references, and statement of purpose, followed by a personal interview.

  • Applicants must submit their CV, references, Statement of Purpose, and completed application form via the RBI internship portal.

  • Incomplete applications or those missing required documents may be rejected. Faculty members from the applicant's institution can provide references.
