About the Internship Opportunity at Ministry of Women and Child Development
The Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) is accepting applications for its Internship Programmes. The Ministry offers a qualitative insight into its mandate and has specific programs and policy analyses aimed at the target group, encouraging them to actively address issues concerning women and children on various platforms in the future.
Vacancy
Ministry would take up to 20 interns per batch.
Roles and Responsibilities
Interns might be tasked with conducting pilot projects or micro-studies related to the Ministry's current activities. The aim of this Programme is to provide interns with a qualitative understanding of the Ministry's mandate, specific programs, and policy analysis, equipping them to actively address issues concerning women and children on various platforms in the future.
The Internship Programme offers a shared platform for engaging interactions and research related to government programs and initiatives. Interns can contribute to policy development by providing inputs through empirical analysis, reports, policy papers, and briefings. This Programme aims to quickly address potential information gaps concerning women's and children's issues and challenges in the country.
As part of this initiative, the Ministry will offer an environment and services for interns to engage with its officials responsible for executing various schemes and policy initiatives. Interns will also have the opportunity to interact with other related Ministries and stakeholders who play a crucial role in the welfare and empowerment of women and children in the country.

Eligibility
Female students, academics, social activists, and educators from non-tier-I cities and rural areas of India are eligible for the program. These women, referred to as interns, must be enrolled in or affiliated with a university, academic, or non-academic institution.
Age: 21 years to 40 years
List of Tier-I cities Tier 1 cities include Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Candidates who belong to Tier-I cities are not eligible to apply for internship
Perks
Each intern would be provided a lump sum stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month and reimbursement of travel cost (by Deluxe/AC Bus/3 Tier AC Train) for joining of the Programme in the Ministry and return back to home at the end of the Programme. Interns proceeding on tour as part of the Programme would be reimbursed travel cost (by Deluxe/AC Bus/3 Tier AC Train) and DA as per extant GOI rates.
Upon successful completion of the program, the interns will also receive a certificate, contingent upon conditions such as the submission or presentation of papers or reports detailing the work accomplished.
Interns will be offered shared hostel accommodations for the duration of their program in Delhi.

Application Procedure
Applicants interested in the internship must submit their applications online through the Internship Programme portal (for further information, please refer to the application guideline link provided below)
Note: Once a candidate is selected for the internship, they will not be eligible to apply for any future terms.
Application Deadline
The applications can be submitted two months prior to the start of the internship, between 1st and 10th of the month (e.g. 1st -10th March for May-June, 1st -10th June for August-September etc.).
