About NITI Aayog
NITI Aayog functions as the premier public policy think tank of the Government of India and serves as the central agency responsible for driving economic development and promoting cooperative federalism. Chaired by the Prime Minister, the current members of NITI Aayog include: Vice Chairperson: Suman Bery. Ex-Officio Members: Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Narendra Singh Tomar.
About NITI Aayog Internship
Students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies, as well as research scholars from recognized universities or institutions both in India and abroad, are eligible to apply for the NITI Aayog Internship Scheme. Participants will engage closely with NITI’s verticals, divisions, or cells. Applications must be submitted online by completing the registration form.
Purpose
To provide short-term exposure for “selected candidates” to the various Verticals, Divisions, or Units of NITI Aayog, Government of India as Interns.
Objective
To enable young academic talents to engage with NITI Aayog’s work for mutual benefit.
Interns will have the chance to learn about government operations and developmental policy issues in the Government of India and contribute to policy formulation by providing inputs such as empirical analysis, briefing reports, and policy papers.

Eligibility criteria
Eligible applicants are bona fide students from any recognized university or institution within India or abroad, meeting the following conditions:
Undergraduate students who have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the second year or fourth semester of their bachelor's degree course, with at least 85% or equivalent marks in 12th grade.
Graduate students who have completed or appeared in the term-end exams of the first year or second semester of their postgraduate program, or those pursuing research/PhD, with at least 70% or equivalent marks in graduation.
Students who have taken the final exam or recently completed their graduation/post-graduation and are awaiting admission to higher studies may also apply, provided they have achieved 70% or more cumulative marks throughout their graduation/post-graduation up to the application date.
The gap between the declaration of final exam results and the desired internship month should not exceed six months; for example, if results are announced in June, the internship must begin by December.

Duration
The internship period must be at least six weeks but not more than six months. Interns who do not complete the required duration will not receive a certificate.
