INTRODUCTION

After an impactful first edition, the Annual Law Fest – Verdictus 2.0 returns stronger, sharper, and more dynamic. This flagship event provides a national platform for aspiring legal professionals to showcase their expertise, enhance advocacy skills, and engage in intellectually stimulating competitions.

With a hybrid structure—online preliminary rounds and offline semi-final & final rounds—Verdictus 2.0 brings together some of India’s brightest law students in a competitive yet collaborative environment.

EVENTS AT VERDICTUS 2.0

Verdictus 2.0 hosts five major competitions, each designed to test different elements of legal aptitude.

1. Moot Court Competition

2. Parliamentary Debate Competition

3. Client Counselling Competition

4. Contract Drafting Competition

5. Law Quiz Competition (for semi-final qualifiers visiting campus who do not advance further)

  • Semi-finals & Finals: 26th – 28th February 2026 (Offline at Navrachana University)


ABOUT NAVRACHANA UNIVERSITY

Navrachana University, Vadodara—established under the Gujarat Private University Act, 2009—is recognized for its progressive academic ecosystem and multidisciplinary approach. COMPETITION DETAILS 1. MOOT COURT COMPETITION

A prestigious platform to engage with complex issues in Constitutional & Criminal Law, judged by esteemed members of the judiciary, senior advocates, and academic scholars.


Team Composition

  • 3 members: 2 Speakers + 1 Researcher

Registration Fee: ₹2100 per team

Last Date: 25 December 2025


Prizes

  • Winner: ₹31,000 + Trophy + Certificate

  • Runner-Up: ₹21,000 + Trophy + Certificate

  • Best Speaker: ₹7,000

  • Best Memorial: ₹7,000

Structure

  • Preliminary → Quarter-final → Semi-final → Final

  • Modified proposition for Semi-final & Final

  • Oral rounds: 20 mins per team + rebuttal


Evaluation

  • Memorials: 50 marks

  • Oral Rounds: 50 marks

2. PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE COMPETITION

A rigorous platform based on Asian Parliamentary (3 vs 3) format for prelims & semifinals, shifting to Indian Parliamentary Simulation for finals.

Registration Fee: ₹1500 per team

Dress Code: Indian Parliamentary Wear / Formals

Language: English or Hindi

  • Motions Release: 1 Jan 2026

  • Prelims: 2–3 Jan 2026 (Online)

  • Finals: 26–28 Feb 2026 (Offline)

Debate Structure

Part A – Prelims & Semifinals

  • Asian Parliamentary (3 speakers each side)

  • Roles: PM, LO, CM, LH, Government Whip, Opposition Whip

  • POIs allowed

  • First round: 15 mins per team

  • Second round: 20 mins per team


Part B – Final Round

  • Simulation of the Indian Parliament

  • Segments include:

    • Question Hour

    • Zero Hour

    • Discussion on Bill

    • Points of Information (POI)

    • Points of Question (POQ)

    • Voice Vote

3. CLIENT COUNSELLING COMPETITION

Focuses on communication, legal advisory skills, ethical interaction, and client handling.

Team Composition: 2 members

Registration Fee: ₹1200 per team

4. CONTRACT DRAFTING COMPETITION

Designed to test precision, structure, and originality in drafting legally enforceable contracts.

Eligibility: UG/PG Law students

Modes: Entirely Online

Registration Fee: ₹500 per individual/team

5. LAW QUIZ COMPETITION (Offline Only)

A special quiz round for teams who reach campus for semi-finals but do not proceed to finals.

CODE OF CONDUCT & ELIGIBILITY

  • Formal dress code (black & white)

  • English as official language (except debate where Hindi allowed)

  • Misconduct leads to disqualification

  • Max 3 teams per institution per competition

  • No refunds after payment

  • All disputes resolved by LAW@NUV

  • Available for all offline rounds in Feb 2026
