About the Webinar

Mar Gregorios College of Law is organizing a National Webinar on Consumer Awareness as an initiative to educate and empower consumers. The webinar focuses on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the role of the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA).

Despite the existence of comprehensive legal frameworks, there remains a lack of awareness among consumers regarding their rights. This webinar aims to address that gap by creating a platform for consumer education and dialogue, ultimately striving to promote “an informed consumer” who is capable of effectively defending their rights.

The webinar is organized by the Centre for Human Rights, in collaboration with IQAC and

the Consumer Advocacy Group (CAG).

About Consumer Advocacy Group (CAG)

Consumer Advocacy Group (CAG) was founded on November 24, 2017, under the able leadership of Dr. PVVS Murthy, with the primary objective of empowering consumers by sensitizing them about their basic rights.

CAG is a purely non-profitable, pro bono group, sustained by the dedication and support of enthusiastic office bearers and members from all professions and age groups. At present, CAG has its sub-groups in 19 states and one Union Territory across India. As a sub-component of CAG, CAG-Manipur was constituted on 3rd January 2025.
